I have a dell 3007, is a diluted mixture of distilled water and isopropyl alcohol actually safe to use? I have never been confident enough to use anything other than distilled water to clean and there are some spots that aren't coming off easily.

Also is the AG coating/external surface integral to the panel? Can I source this and replace it myself?

Not sure about the anti glare coating on the panel but I've been using Isopropyl alcohol to clean my monitors for years with no problems. Never even diluted it. I use those alcohol wipes you get from the drug store and they work great

I use windex diluted with lots n lots of water. I only use it if it got oil on it.

In the first place, try not to get your monitor dirty. If its just dust, then wet with towel with no lint.

I know at work, workers are jerks and likes to touch the screen. Maybe put a sticker that says 'cant touch this'.

Never use any amount Windex or other ammonia-based cleaners on an LCD screen, because it will ruin the finish.

AlecMoody, a mixture of 70% isopropyl alcohol and 30% distilled water (commonly found as rubbing alcohol in grocery stores) is the safest cleaner to use when just distilled water won't work anymore.

This is what I use as well, basically the isopropyl alcohol/water mixture for any stains/residue that won't come off with water. Except I use 99% isopropyl (use it for cleaning off thermal grease as well).

For the past 7 years, I've used 1/2 vinegar/1/2 distilled water with great success. Really get's rid of fingerprints fast. I also use a lint/scratch free cloth.
