Hello all. I have a pc with dual boot (windows xp + ubuntu). To make a long story short, I had a drive that I was using as backup storage. It was accidentally converted to a basic drive (in windows xp) by a friend... It was not formated. Ultimately I'd like to "recover" the data. Does anyone know how? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm off to do some googling. Apparently there is a lot of software out there.

Ok well, it seems like the computer actually caught on fire! Ohhhhh!

No hehe, Im just kidding. I hope no one laughed at that? That would say a lot of bad things... about you.

Whew. To be honest I was a little freaked out though. I think we all have data that is important. Anyway, I found some useful info/steps on the link below. Thanks to me at HardOCP for the all the help. And maybe howtogeek. I'm not sure how much cred to give them. Maybe 1%? :D

Off to make some back ups.
