Basic case mod -- need a bit of help

Going to do my first case mod, want to build one for gf for christmas... I've never modded anything before.

My idea is to take a pre-modded window case and put some metal roses inside so when the red leds light up it looks like their is red roses inside the case... think this is possiable? Any suggestions on how to do it?

Also I want to cut a Symbol (chinesse characters) on the other side of the case and stuff a LED in there... I've never cut up cases before, what's the best way to do this? Demel?

Any other ideas? I think the roses will look really cool, but think it might need something else to make it stand out more.
