Quick run down:
Computer A and B are targets. Computer C is source. Trying to Ghost C to A or B.
Can ping A and B from C (and vice-versa) but will not map.
Asks for a password on mapping but I am logged in as administrator on the correct workgroup.
Installed XP on a different computer - connect no problem.
Firewall is off and disabled.

In the process of installing 2nd copy of XP on box A. Will see if that works (which it should). If it does, it means there's a setting or corruption or something whack about my current setup. I'll then try reinstalling SP2 on my main config to see if that fixes it.

Has anyone else had problems with Bart's disk and connecting when you know you have everything correct? If you have a quick fix, please let me know. Thanks!

You are supplying a user that exists on the target machine for the connection in your "net use" statement, correct?

Not for sure I fully understand your question. I am logging on the correct workgroup as administrator with matching passwords. Tried NET USE and MSNET - neither will connect. It just asks for a password. Remember I can ping back and forth.

I went home at lunch and tried to connect to computer A with the new install of XP and it worked. I reinstalled SP2 on my main config on comp A and still no go. I did an SFC /scannow - no go. Something is preventing DOS connections and I can't for the life of me figure it out. I even tried in safe mode with networking and it didn't work.

I have no spyware (to the best of my knowledge) ... maybe I need to try something beside spybot and adaware. Spysweeper maybe. I don't know. I could just as easily format/reinstall but I want to figure out what is causing the problem.

Grrr!

Holy Cramoly I finally figured it out! After spending 3 days of tinkering and what-not, I finally stumbled upon the solution. I do not know why it worked because nothing really changed... but it did!

Solution:
Simply reset the password on the target PC even if you know it's correct.

I know for a fact the password was correct. But for whatever reason I had to set it again on both target computers. After I did that, everything worked like a champ.
