Barton 2500+ - what mobo?

I'm building my family a new pc for them to use and Im sticking a barton 2500+ and a stick of crucial ram in it. I need a cheap but decent motherboard to put these in. I will be doing no overclocking so i don't need features for that. I just want it to be a solid board. any suggestions welcome.
 
Any NF2-400 board will do ... this will also take care of your video and sound ...

I use a lanparty ultra B, my sister uses a a7n8x-E Deluxe. Flip a coin to decide, but any of those boards with the NF2 chipset are good.
 
the Abit, DFI, Shuttle, and Asus motherboards seem to be the top socket A sellers currently. get whatevers cheapest and has all the features you want.

the shuttle seems to be the best budget board at $60.
 
My vote is on an Abit NF7-S v2.0
Awesome board never had a glitch with mine, overclocks like a MOFO
 
Do not use DFI unless you are hard core buggiest board on the planet NF7S-2 less than $100 and has good sound
 
NF7-S is way too overpriced, when you can have the AN35-N Ultra ... for almost half the price.

There is nothing wrong with the DFI's ... bought a KM400A based mobo last Friday, I was a little bit apprehensive, because of all the returned boxes I saw @ Microcenter ... (but I have no time to order it on-line). I tried it, and worked wonderfully. I have no problem installation wise ... some people just does not have the business building PCs ....

So are any of the dual channel mobo's out there any good or better than the NF7-s? And is the dual channel that important?
I'm building a new budget rig with a 2500+ and i've never oc'ed, but i'm gonna try it this time, so I would like to get the most outta this setup.

Oh yeah I have a 1 gig of infineon pc2300 ram that I will be using for now.
 
The NF7-S ver 2 mobo's have dual channel, and are Ultra 400, though it's not advertised for some reason.

Ah that is interesting. I noticed at newegg they didn't advertise dual channel but thats cool if it does cause this board had tons of good feedback reviews
 
so for the money, are there any cpu's in this price range that oc better than the 2500+? The purchase button will be hit soon...lol
 
I'm happy enough with my 2500+, but the mobile 2500+, being unlocked at this time, running lower voltages, is supposed to be the better overclocker.
