I'm working on a new website and I came across something I'd want to have, but I don't know how to make it.

The title of the thread is probably not to clear so here's an example of what I'm trying to do. It's the box at the end of the page on the left of which the content keeps changing (like some sort of a banner... or something )

Going from:
Alienware Sentia: Ultra-Portable Notebook
to:
Alienware Bot
and so on...

I've viewed the source code of it but didn't get it. There probably is a java-script to it, but I can't find the right one :rolleyes:

I'd probably look at the page source & see how they're doing it...

looks like Javascript to me.

I did some checking, and AW has rigged their external script files such that they don't serve directly to the client. It would take a lot of cache dredging to figure out the actual functions in use, it seems.

.. and found that out to.

Since I'm not really familiar with java, I looked for some tutorials on the internet. The idea of making a slideshow came across my mind. Instead of using pictures, maybe I could use HTML files? It probably isn't right to asume you can just change that, because I tried and it didn't work...

In case it might be of help to anyone, here's that code:
Code:
<script>
var path="d:\adds\";
var isIE=document.all?true:false;
var isNS4=document.layers?true:false;
var isNS6=!isIE&&document.getElementById?true:false;
var n=0;
var imgs = new Array();
var PRELOAD=true;
var c=0;
if(!PRELOAD)
{
  imgs[c++] = path+"add1.html";
  imgs[c++] = path+"add2.html";
  imgs[c++] = path+"add3.html";
  imgs[c++] = path+"add4.html";
}
else
{
  imgs[c] = new Image();imgs[c++].src=path+"add1.html";
  imgs[c] = new Image();imgs[c++].src=path+"add2.html";
  imgs[c] = new Image();imgs[c++].src=path+"add3.html";
  imgs[c] = new Image();imgs[c++].src=path+"add4.html";
}
function rotate()
{
  var _setTo=PRELOAD?imgs[n].src:imgs[n];
  if(isIE)document.images["p"].src=_setTo;
  if(isNS4)document.f.p.src=_setTo;
  if(isNS6)document.f.p.src=_setTo;
  (n==(imgs.length-1))?n=0:n++;
}
</SCRIPT>
and where it is suposed to come in the HTML:
Code:
<FORM NAME="f">
<IMG NAME="p" SRC="/js/add1.html" WIDTH="350" HEIGHT="200" ALT="Slide">
</FORM>
<script>
setInterval("rotate();",5000);
</script>
