I'll put my specs in my sig later but I'm at school and it times out when I try to change it.
MSI K8n Neo2
A64 3200+ .09nm @ 2.240
Corsair PC3200 XMS XL pro @ 2-3-10-3
ATi X800 XT PE (real) @ 600/620 (stock cooling)
Antec True Power 480W
XP Home

I'm wondering why with this setup I can't break 10k in 3DMark 03'. Isn't that rediculous, I thought they could get 12k out of the box but my stock settings get a 92xx and 98xx OCed. And even OCed my best 05' score is 25XX. I think these are obserdley slow. I know their just benches but they can show max preformance and maybe this should happen but this seems extreamly slow. I just build this system yesterday and i haven't put in Service pack 1 or 2 yet, could that be it? And I did these benches using CATs 4.8 and 4.10 and I get pretty much the same scores... anyone have any ideas, questions??

Make sure you turn off vsync and that you do not have AA/AF turned on in your control panel when running benchmarks. Set both AA/AF to application preference in the panel and then hit apply. BTW that overclock is too high for stock cooling.

some people have said OC'ing their GPU too high results in lower scores.... (GPU throttling). Try 550 instead of 600.

I'm getting 12.7k with my set up. -- SEE SIG BELOW :)

Is this a fresh reinstall of Winders? if not that might be the problem. (old drivers, etc.)

SP2 actually produces slightly lower scores than SP1. So I doubt thats the problem.

BTW, whats up with your ram timings. On the NF2 you needed 2-3-2-11 or 2-2-2-11, but for you set up you should be running like 2-3-2-6
Make sure you have 1T also instead of 2T.

I tried all you guys told me and nothing worked. I ran over to my friends house with a worse PC to try the card 2800+ XP 512 Corsair Value. Anyway. He got an 115xx right off the bat... what the heck is up. I even found that my AGP apeture was at 128M so changed it to 265M... no difference. I really need some help.

Maybe your chipset drivers are not properly installed?

I found it... dun't know why I didn't try this before. I set my Proc and RAM back to stock and now I'm gettin 12k easy in 3D 03' and I've only run one time but 05' I get bout 4500 which I think is a little low... but now what, will I now be able to OC my RAM and Proc without making them throttle the GPU? I'll have to do some more fooling around.. i'll let you know how it goes

I ran memtest86 and come out clean but after persisting problems and failure in other test like prime95 even at all stock speeds, I'm gunna blame this one on the Memory modules. I think I'm going to go with OCZ next time. Seem to be the most stable among MSI neo2-ers.

On another note. I got a huge performance increase when I went to 4.11 drivers.
