Bad voltage regulation?

Well, thanks to this section of the forum, I returned my two TT Silent Purepowers and got an Enermax 550W Dual Xeon ready PSU today. It's this one http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=17-103-437&depa=0 though I paid 170 for each of the two I got... I GOT HOSED  anyway, Aida32 reads voltages as being ok for my main system, but on the secondary system I've got a Gigabyte board with P4 2.53 1.5gb pc2700, two HDDs, 9800pro, and some fans, lights etc. In Aida32 the 5v value is at constant 4.19-4.22 as it was with the TT, the other voltages are where they should be, but I'm wondering what could be wrong here? Isn't 4.19v a lot low for such a powerful supply?

Yeah that's pretty low, the deviation shouldn't be more tha +- 5%, if you're experiencing ANY issue with stability at all rma it.

Instead of using shitty onboard voltage monitors, why not use a Digital Multimeter?

I don't have one, is there one that you'd recommend? I can't imagine that the voltage is really that low. Wouldn't the protection circuitry have kicked in and shut it down since its below the threshold?

Sears (honest) sells some pretty good ones for a fair price. They also have a few that come with thermal probes which can come in very handy.

Radio Snatch is another easy source (I am pretty sure there is a law that every mall must have a Radio Shack), either way both companies can set you up for $20 and up.

Luck

Any DMM will be better than the bios so find something thats $10-30 and your set....don't worry about the auto ranging ones even just get something basic
