Any Ideas on what might cause my computer to hang before even the BIOS screen every time I turn it on? When I powered up my box thismorning, It started to fire up, I heared the CDROM and Hard Drives start to whirr, and then the computer just hangs there... No bios screen, no beeps no nothing...

The "power good" light on the motherboard is on, all the fans are working, etc... just no nothing past the initial drive warm up, and nothing ever comes on the screen.

Could I have fried my cpu? Does anyone know what component failrue(s) might cause this kind of outcome? I was messing around with some.. well "unsavory" programs last night, is it possible that some malicious code erased my bios? Ive got a prometian phase cooler on this puppy, could that have damaged my CPU? Since there is no beeping or nothing, I figured that it cant be just a bad cpu, or video card or drive or anything.....

My mobo is an asus P4G8X, P4 3.06 CPU, Promise Tx2000 raid arrary if that helps....

I didnt think a bad video card would stop the whole boot up process from happening. Wouldnt the BIOS load and then beep to tell me there is a bad video card? This doesnt happen at all, the bios doesnt even seem to load.....

I could be wrong though...

Just recheck and reseat all of your components, something may have vibrated loose. :)

You'd be surprised. Video BIOS loads before system BIOS, plus any sort of bad solder joint/electrical error in the card can have bad effects on the motherboard. :)

Strip the system down to bare minimum (cpu, ram, video) and see if it boots..go from there..
