Hey guys just wanted to inform you of a transaction. I bought 2 680's from Cupidsrage as seen here http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1720676

I paid on 10/30 and received a message on 11/2 that the cards had water damage when removing them. 11/3 I was promised a refund on 11/6. Since the 11/3 I have tried contacting them to no avail. I opened a paypal dispute and will wait until Monday before escalating.

Not sure what type of water he was running. But distilled water will not cause damage to a gpu. Perhaps he was using a mix though. I would go ahead and file a dispute with paypal and leave him the feedback on heatware. As there is no reason for that guy to hold your cash from you. He didn't send the video cards out and should have issued a refund right then.

Edit
What is his heatware user name? As nothing even shows up under "Cupidsrage". I honestly hope you didn't send $800 bucks to a new person with no heatware. Did you get a cell phone number or a house number and talk to the guy before hand? Thanks

he has not been on since 11/3 ,but Ill shoot him a PM and let him know about this thread

Seller has no heat, just an eBay account.

Escalate the claim and cross your fingers.

Yes, mostly my fault with this. I had him/her verify the eBay account which had previous GPU sales so nothing seemed out of the ordinary to me. I used a CC through Paypal so I'm not too terribly worried, and I've escalated the claim. Thanks for the advice guys.

I checked and he didn't have email notification for PMs enabled. I enabled it, so you might want to shoot him another one.

Thanks, I'll send him another one right now. Paypal should have been sending him emails also. Thanks again Lethal!

Just an update, Paypal sided with me and recovered the money. Not sure what happened to the seller, but at least it ended well for me. Lesson learned.

Another reason NOT to pay with PayPal gift. Glad it worked out well on your side OP because of you had paid with gift you would be sol
