When you start to hear those high pitched noises and your not really sure what it is. Back up your data and get ready for a RMA. Tuesday morning the drive started making those small sounds. I decided it was about to die and started backing up with Drive Image. No go as the drive was already too far gone. Damn it! Hardly a warning. I was able to boot from another drive and recover the data I needed. I guess I'm trying to tell everyone to be fast with these drives when they start to go. They die fast!

Thanks for the heads up I know the feeling of having hard drives just up and quit. I had a new seagate run for 3 days and then just decides it had enough and died. Rmaed the drive and got another and it runs like a champ.
