I have an aspie 500 watt psu and ever sense i got my 6800gt i have had slowdown issues in some games, i have a good hunch that it is either my motherboard or my PSU so i was wondering if anyone knows a good program that i can run to tell me if my PSU is the problem.

No program will tell you directly that your PSU is failing... you can get programs that check for general stability, but not for PSU health. You've got an Aspire 500W powering your system, that's a problem right there. Do consider upgrading to a known-good PSU and your problems should go away. Read the sticky at the top of this forum for more pointers.

the slowdown i am seeing is pretty much in any game i know its not my video card cuz i swapped it out with a 6600gt and did the same thing but there might be a possibily that its the mobo, but slim. i also know its not the cpu or ram cuz i have a new cpu and new ram also.

Just because they are new doesn't mean that they can't be bad. What are your system specs?

Before you spend money on a new PSU when yours might be perfectly fine.. do you have access to one that you can "borrow" to help you do some shotgun troubleshooting?

i have asked people to borrow there psu but everyone is to lazy to get it out of there pc,

athlon 64 3200+
bfg 6800GT
znf3-250 motherboard
WD 80gig hdd

i know there not bad cuz the problem is very specific and i had the old cpu and the old ram and still had the same problem so its not cpu or ram cuz the problem remains and is the same
