Alright guys, so i finally narrowed down my freezing problem to the sound card... Apprently VIA Chipsets and Creative Sound cards dont like each other....
I went in to take out my sound card so i could boot up....as soon as i did, i noticed during the bootup the WINDOWS logo pops up and it looks like windows is loading ok....
then....all of a sudden right when it looks like the windows loading screen is done and the sign in screen is to come...the screen goes black....
I am still getting feed from the video card cause the little light on the monitor is green.
SO i assumed its a hardware error (specifically a hard drive error) that messing up the boot so i decide to format.
Problem is....when the format process asks me to do the F6 3rd party raid device i get the SHAFT, i enter the driver and it can't find the drives!!!! It doesn't see my drives....one of them is a 180 GB WDC and the second is a really old 27GB...and the windows boots from a partition on the 180...
I figure the drive are totally shafted but there is on thing that is confusing me....if this really is a hard drive problem....how come when i boot up the BIOS detects both of them and windows begins to load at the beginning...should the drives be detected??? WHat is my next step...on one of my partitions of the big Drive i NEEEEED THE INFORMATION more than anything.....
help!
