Bad pixel on Olympus E-510

I bought an Olympus E-510 at Newegg last week. But I recently noticed that I get a stuck pixel on the same place in every photo I take. You can see it clearly on .RAW files, but even on jpegs it shows.
I tried clearing the dust with a blower, but that does nothing for me.
It is pretty annoying, as I was absolutely loving this camera so far.
Does anyone have any recommendation on how I should go about this? I'm not sure if Newegg would accept an RMA if I say it's defective, or if this is a common problem with DSLRs... any opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Its just like any other tech of that type, you're going to possibly have a limited number of bad pixels. At print size you should never see it, and on things you intend to print REALLY large, you can get something like the gimp and do a simple fix.

I would send it back -- it's defective, simple as that. It's not an LCD so it doesn't fall under LCD return rules. You spent a lot of money, so make sure you get your money's worth.

Same camera, same problem, very easy fix.

Turn to page 106 in the manual and read towards the bottom for Pixel Mapping and run it.

Its almost not worth it to return it seeing as how you could end up with the same or worse, and Olympus put this option in so we dont have to send it in for repairs like alot of other brands make you do to perform the same thing.

Amazing!!!
Thanks bro!

Maybe its because I havent been awake too long, but I dont see it in that pic. lol (stealth edit: where did the pic go? or do I just need more coffee?)

Did you run the pixel mapping?

If you followed the directions and its still there after running the Pixel Mapping, I guess you should try a RMA.

What I did was turn the camera off for about 10-15 mins, turned on, ran the Pixel Mapping with the lens cover on and then took a long exposure with the cap on to check.

yup, I don't know why the picture wasn't showing...
I followed the instructions like you suggested and it worked like a charm, so I guess it wouldn't really make sense trying to figure out how to put the picture back up:)

Thanks again btw, and olympus got a few more brownie points with me for this awesome feature!

:D Glad to have helped.
Yeah, gota love em for including that. I just wished I had know I had a stuck pixel before I took some 200 pics, but meh, they were day1 pics anyways.
