Hey all,

I recently turned my old hard drive into a storage drive for my new system. Now, when I try to access certain folders and files, it says "*directory* is not accessable. Access denied." So, my question is, how would I get around this? I have alot of documents on that drive that I would like to access. I have already messed with the permissions alot so I don't think that is is. Also, the drive is now set as a slave.

Thanks.

Assuming you are using winXP, Usually going to the properties on the item then security tab then advanced then owner.
Click on your username then click "replace owner on subcontents and containers".

Also try chkdsking the drive, or changing the ribbon.

Yea, I had the same problem and it turned out I didn't take ownership of the files

If I had known it would be that easy! i was changing settings like no other, switching cables, jumper settings...ugh...thanks again.
