ok heres the skinny, i overclocked my 9600 xt this morning, i got up to 580 core speed, then the good ole vpu recover kicked in b/c the card stopped working. i assume that it got too hot, but after i rebooted i ran one of the ati 9700 pro demos that i got off of ati's site and i got all kinds of graphical errors. the errors are similar to those that people are getting with far cry. i would like to know if that it was just still hot or do you think that my card is gone. i didnt have time to wait on the card to cool off this morning so when i get home i might discover that it is ok, but i would still like your professional oppinions. thanks in advance

when you're overclocking your card ....turn off VPU Recover and 2 of the services of ati........

it always works for me......

much appreciate the response, however i got the card back up agian with no problems, powerstrip fucked up when the card shutdown, it freaked out and put the core speed down to 74mhz. so after a nice uninstall of ps, the card now works perfectly. i now am a fan of ATItool for all my vcard tweaking needs.
