Bad Memory Divider?

I've got myself a MSI K8N Neo2 and have recently traded my 3200+ (Maxed @ 2.5) for a 2.8+ 3000+. I am using 2x512 KingstonValueRAM PC3200. One stick is kingston branded while the other is inferion, but they work just fine in dual channel. The sticks are rated cas 3 at 200mhz, but they're 100% stable at cas 2.5 @ 227. I've used the follow bios versions with the same issue. Retail 1.5,1.8,1.9 and Modded versions 1.37,1.8,1.9. Now, onto the problem.

With a 100:200 multiplier I am able to boot into windows at 9x311 (HTT Multi x3) and lower with no problems at all. No problems with 166:200 either, but with 133:200 and even a slight bump to 210HTT, i won't POST and need to reset the cmos via the jumper. I can however boot into windows with 133:200 at stock speeds, but ANY increase no matter how small wtih glockgen will result in an instant freeze. I've heard the Neo2 has 166:200 issues with crucial ballistics so I thaught it might be my mobo/ram combination, but I got the same results with a single stick of 256mb PC2700 Corsair XMS.

1. Reset defaults in BIOS for everything. Set your memory to SPD detect in BIOS, then manually keep them at those settings. Contrary to popular belief, the timings and oc for memory don't matter much for a A64 because of the integrated mem controller (definition: none to very minimal benefit. You won't notice the difference in real world usage, so it's probably not worth the risk to system stability).

2. Do not change the memory timings after you lock them in from the SPD detect. Set your divider to 166MHz and fsb to 240MHz. This will keep your memory at 200MHz and the cpu to 2.4GHz.

3. Do not change the memory timings after you lock them in from the SPD detect. If the 166MHz divider is stable, go for the 150MHz divider (if you have it) and start incrementally increasing the fsb. You can set a max of 267MHz for the fsb and not take the memory over 200MHz.

Sounds like you are doing things right with the HTT multiplier. You want to keep it under 1000MHz as much as possible.

Nah, not really. I think you might just be stressing the mismatched dimms a little too much with the clock rate you're running them at.
 
Hmm, dont think so. Same results with only 1x512 stick and the single stick of Corsair...My memory timings are fine and are nothing to worry about.
 
I hear that. Usually takes 2-4 days for Gigabyte to respond to my inquiries.

'couse, the questions I ask probably promoted a bit of head-scratching and deer-in-the-headlights looks. :D
