My Ipod has been having weird problems, basically the computer cannot read from it, only write. Could it be that the firewire card went bad? I have sent the ipod to apple for a new one, and I experienced the same problem.

it's either the card, the cable, or software. I'm going to try and get to an apple store soon to test out the cable, but can the card fail read but not write? Just wondering if this is possible. thanks.

anyone? should i just try getting a new firewire card? if so any suggestions keeping in mind price?

well, although i'm using it for the ipod i was more asking about firewire cards on pc's. my real question is:

can firewire cards all of a sudden write but not read? or is it something else.

ok, i went to the apple store, and it worked perfectly hooked up to one of their computers using my cable. time to try a new firewire card. any reason not to go with this one:

firewire card1
?

would it be worth the 10 bucks to go for this:
and get usb2?

firewire plus usb2 card

thanks

just to update that it was indeed the firewire card, i got a new one and it now works perfectly
