I got a Dell 2005FPW widescreen in the summer of 2005. Over the past couple months I have noticed was appears to be a liquid like effect running down from the top of my monitor. It seems to be getting worse too.

I am on now with Dell and they say they will replace it, though with Dell it seems they don't even acknowledge you if you don't have an actual PC with them. try to get support on just a monitor on their site - you can't, they want an express code. Try the auto support on the phone, and even if you say just a monitor they ask if it is hooked up to a PC and then want to know which Dell model it is. Then talking with a real person when telling them it is hooked up to a non Dell PC the first person said "that might be a problem and might not be under warranty(this was an American CS person too)". After insisting she was wrong I got to a hardware person. After much deliberation she agreed to replace it, even declining to see my pictures.

Oh, and Dell will ship out the new one to me, and pays to ship it back.

And for those curious see the pics below. Look at the top edge of the screen.
