I ordered my 6800GT from eVGA yesterday. Paid the f****ing 40 dollars extra for overnight delivery. I've been tracking the thing since last night, on the plane, off the plane, in the delivery center, OUT FOR DELIVERY. I was all excited to get the thing before lunch here at work where i had it sent as my Shipping address. Well i check the tracking again it says first delivery attempt failed. WHAT? I have'nt left work how could this be? I checked my email from eVGA, right there is says Shipping Address: has my work address, which is where i wanted it sent. So what and where went wrong you ask? I called UPS they said "oh, well the shipper (eVGA) has the shipping address as 10** N. Scott St", which is my home address, i say "No i wanted it delivered to my work cause i can't be at home to sign for the package, where is the mix up?" He said that eVGA screwed up and told them the wrong address. The UPS guy said it has to come back to them before they can send it out to me again at my work address, so now i have to wait another day. Damn it i was all excited about playing with this thing tonight, now that's down the drain.....f*** i have to call eVGA they owe me some money since they messed up and now i'm not getting my package overnight delivery, THAT I PAID FOR!

yea that sucks...can you try asking if they will give you some of your money back since they messed up?

your damn right i'm getting my money back, as soon as they open (pacific time their on) i'm calling their asses up.

sounds more like you put your home address in the shipping field on accident

that's what i thought i might have did, but like i said already i checked my email from eVGA that i got last night about the package going out and right where it says Shipping address it has my work address, so it's their mix up somewhere not mine.

i do that sometimes on accident then get all pissed then realize it was me but im still pissed at them :p

That sucks dude...everytime I have ever paid extra for expedited delivery it always ends up wasted money. One time was because of a massive ice storm but still...

you need to have your work address filed with your credit card company... the same thing happened to me last week with $400 worth of laser toner... pain in the ass, but it wont happen again.

i hear what your saying, but if these online vendors are going to ask for billing address and shipping address, they need to get it right, i should'nt be the one who has to work around it.

my experience was that it shipping must match billing, unless an additional addy was available on the credit card, sounds clean and simple to me. For the record I think its better in terms of cracking down on credit card fraud.

You could have just asked them to hold it at the UPS location and picked it up last night after the truck had returned from deliveries.

You guys are missing the point, why have it if they don't come thru is all i'm saying. I've had things shipped from other vendors with different shipping and billing address and they have all got it right....i understand they made a mistake, they are just going to have to pay for it. I don't feel like driving down to the UPS center, at rush hour it will take forever.

They did this to protect you.
A lot of online vendors have same billing/shipping policy.
Would you wan't some random person you work with to walk home with a new 6800? :p

unfortunately, you can complain about it all you want on here if it makes you feel better
but your card won't be in your hands any faster.

Usually online vendors verify shipping addresses before they confirm the order, though. I've been called a couple of times by places checking that I haven't stolen my gf's credit card.

That's why I like to order from the same places, like zipzoomfly, that I know won't have any problems. I think I've spent over $3k there in the last few years.

lots of online retailers wont let you use a seperate shipping address via credit card from most banks.

first off calm down a little, your being a drama queen on a level that could impress a 7th grade girl sleepover

thirdly since i have shipping issues also with work often ill just pick my stuff up from ups on my way home.

mmmm 7th grade girl sleepover....

yea, anyway, I still think it was their mistake not to confirm first and he should get some money back.

with ups i think with the slip they leave on your door should have the address stamped on where you can pick it up after hours. after the first failed delivery you can usually arrange a pickup.

or option 2

landlady or neighbor or train your dog to fake your signature.

One more time for the dense people. Why does eVGA ask if i wanted it delivered to a seperate address if they can come thru with it? Also i if your saying my credit card company did this to protect me, i used this card to do this in the past and never had the problem. Also the UPS office is totally out of the way. It's a good 20 miles from my house the total opposite direction as a matter of fact and at rush hour getting there and back would be hell. That's cool, i'm screwed for today, i'll deal with it......still sucks though.

If you want your card before 6pm tonight drop PM me your IM and I'll tell you how to get your card :D

okay, some people have multiple confirmed CC address's now... like myself, this way they can differentiate between which one they want it shipped to. I talked to billing at my office, and she said that this is standard practice to only ship to addresses on file (although our cheapest item is $995 so we need to play it safe).

chill man you'll get your card, and eVGA will most likely reemberse you for your trouble with shipping.

I know i was being a girl, i just felt like a little kid a christmas waiting to open up the presents.....that's a good feeling and it sucks when it's been blasted out of the water....that's all i'm asking for thought, my money back for the overnight delivery charge.

And maybe a pound of flesh from the delivery guys? oh yeaaaa
