Bad CPU or Bad Mobo?

I have been having problems with my new computer that I built. At first, I had bad ram. That has been replaced and both sticks pass MemTest86. Not I am having stability problems running Windows. I will receive a quick Blue Screen Of Dead error and then the screen will go blank. I have narrowed it down and the computer only does it when the Lvl1 and 2 cache is enabled in bios. With it disabled it runs fine, but at an extremely slow pace. Is it the cpu that is bad, or could it be a problem with the motherboard? Any other suggestions? Here is a list of the parts I am using:
AOpen AX4C Max mobo (latest bios 1.14)
P4 2.8ghz 800 FSB 512k cache
2X 512mb PC3200 from Crucial
Antec True 380W PSU
Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro
Seagate 80gig SATA HD
Windows XP Professional

Thanx for the help in advance,
Tim

Oh, to add to this, it doesn't want to run with Hyper-Threading engaged either, even though my computer is supposed to support it.

That definitely sounds like a real piece of junk motherboard. Just because you bought a hyperthreading compatible processor, doesn't mean that you can run it as one. You need the motherboard to support the technology as well.

AOpen? If their cases are anything to judge them by, then I can only assume that this motherboard is crap as well.

My suggestion is to ditch that motherboard and pick up an Abit AI7 or a near equivalent. Best buy for the time being.

I still dont think it is the motherboard that is bad. It is supposed to support hyper-threading. I have a feeling that it is the cpu that is bad. I think I am going to drop the computer off tomorrow to someone to just let them check it out.
