I'm pretty sure it was Soldiers of Chaos. clan tag was [=SOC=],. After doing a quick google search, the server's name is "=SoC= Chaos Central"
I was pretty angry. I've never had a problem on the server before, and I've played there quite a few times, even had them favorited.
But, one bad apple spoils the bunch, as they say.
I was pretty pissed off about it last night, not as much today. It is, afterall, just a game.
quickedit: If I did get the clan wrong, I apologize profusely and will edit my post.
DOUBLE EDIT: FUCK. Yeah it must have been survivors of Chaos. I'm sorry for disparaging the Soldiers of Chaos' good name. I ahd a very bad mod experience on the SURVIVORS of Chaos server, not SOLDIERS of chaos. I'm sorry again.
To anyone running servers: you auto-balance me I leave. Balance the teams in between rounds if you want to switch things up, but if I'm already playing, just leave me alone.
If they autobalance you it's performance based. Take it in stride and make your friends die.
Don't cry about it, that helps no one.
ah, the old "the [mode i prefer] is the best because it requires more skill than the [mode I dislike]."
There are skills involved in both hardcore and normal. To claim that the "true skill" is in one is nonsense.
I play mostly rush. I prefer to play hardcore because I like the "sneaky" aspect of it in hardcore. Hide behind someone's base, sneak in the objective, etc. that in normal is impossible if someone just happens to press Q while aiming in your general vicinity. Of course, normal also has it's required skills, but those are more about aim and reflexes. As a matter of preference, hardcore is more my style, but I am not going to claim that that is where the "true" skill is. I also think both modes have specific problems. In normal guns are horribly unbalanced, while in hardcore some maps are.
Every time I see my Russian classmate I have an urge to yell out "GRANADA!!!"I keep it at default so I can tell if an enemy is near me or not.
And after a while, you get to understand what they're saying.
Nobody's claimed that there's more skill in either, I don't think. We were discussing the degree to which the teamplay elements are neutered in hardcore.
teamplay is a skill.

I typically play HC but I've always thought it was a bit too much, and normal is too far the other way. Normal mode with hp in between current normal and HC, with spots only showing up on the minimap would be my ideal.
What's with these servers with uptight admins who kick you for bad language? THERE'S CUSSING IN THE GAME. Wtf is wrong with these people?
The language filter is superlame. A few times I'll ask in the chatbox "did any of my shots hit you?" after a hit-detection fail, and the game censors half of it because it thinks I'm trying to type "shit" ("shots hit").
I also still haven't bronzed the humvee/quad category. I'll need to spend a day parking them and getting on the MG I guess...
1. Find a Heavy Metal server.
2. Assert dominance by taking and holding the middle point.
3. Make sure someone mans the AA gun there (key to victory).
4. Relax for the rest of the match by driving around in a FAV and roadkilling all the snipers/stragglers in the open.
It spells great success! Also, be creative about the routes you take, never drive head-on into a group because that will only end in tears. Try making your way behind enemy lines then working back towards your team...no one suspects a face full of bumper from behind and you'll be amazed at how oblivious people can be.
I have a problem with language filters or any form of censorship. If I want to call someone out and call them a ++++ then it should be part of the game.
Edit - I didn't realise there was a filter on here too, heh! What's with those pluses?! How [Hard]
++++
edit: ah ok now I know what is the c word
Yeah and there sure are some ++++s playing BC2! I don't know what's the matter with some people.
Still enjoying this game although not a frequently as I once did, the UMP 45 - MAG ammo - red dot is pure class.
I expect I'll be playing this up until BF3 comes out, although in Vietnam I'm finding it really hard to find the maps I like to play on here in Europe. So I've gone back to vanilla
I think I may have overdone the PPSh anyway with my 'nam soldiers. No idea why I have four and so many platinums!!

but honestly BFBC2 has gone into the shitter ever since the 7 dollar sale steam had.. god damn COD kiddies need to go back to their bullcrap COD rebadged game because they don't belong on BFBC2 or any BF game to be honest. so sick of people not knowing how to spot, not knowing how to use vehicles, not knowing how to snipe, not knowing how to actually capture a flag.. i mean seriously this is just common sense stuff.
They'll get their asses kicked and get flushed out eventually. Don't give up!

I would even be ok with 3d spotting if it required you to have the person specifically in your sights. As it is now, you just mash Q and half the team is spotted.
The scrubs are always on my team. I'm a scrub magnet.
There are still a lot of noobs from the Steam sale but the difference with them is they try so hard to get better, ask questions and actually take on board suggestions made in the chatbox by other players. They are great .
I find some people un-spot-able here recently. I'll be firing at an enemy running across an empty field and I continually mash q over and over and it doesn't spot them.

Same.
Also, as a new player to the game myself, I have a message to all you level 50's that play on noob max level 20-30 servers: Go eat a fucking dick. I joined a noob server so I could learn the game mechanics / maps with other new players, not get hunted down as a level 4 by some asshat level 50 sniper that's camping somewhere.

really where are these people at? because i never get them on my team.. i mean hell i spend more time telling them how to play then i actually play. then i get told to shut up, so i just sit in the uncap and watch as my team gets raped in the face .. though i play on the same server with the same people on mumble so i tend to be a dick and give my teams positions away.. they gotta learn the hard way to pay attention to who they are telling to shut up, because telling the guy that has almost 700 hours on that server to shut up isn't the brightest idea, lol.
The Q button has a universal cooldown. You can spot one enemy[group] every two seconds; after every successful spot (which can light up like 3 players) you have to wait 2 seconds to spot again. If you spam Q too many times by trying to spot everyone you see, you will encounter a 5-second cooldown. Every time you hit Q whilst in the cooldown period you extend it to 5 seconds again, I think. It's a balancing mechanic. Try counting to five/six before hitting spot again and it should work.
