6800 ultra went bad right. newegg promised that when they got mine back (rma) they will send me one. NOPE didnt happen, despite they promised in writing that this is what they agreed upon. instead the credited my account. Hopefully my credit card so i can spend it else where. I thought newegg was the bomb. but will take my buisness else where now. They left me with NO video card. dumb me.....

I don't care much for newegg, but if the replacement card isn't in stock they can't send you another one. What they did is reasonable.

Maybe they didn't have any?

At least they credited your account. Could have been worse.

What the fuck you whining about, at least they gave you your money back. hell you should feel lucky they took it back and not told you to send it to the manufacturer.

I think the egg did the right thing, if they didn't have any of your card it was better to give your money back than make you wait.

First explain how your 6800 went Bad.
Nevermind the fact its rare to find people that have the 6800U, its rare for anyone to buy it, rare for retailers to have it at fair prices. What makes you think NEWEGG can just pull a 6800U out of their ass and hand it to you for a card they don't even know how it got broken.

Its their fult that they told you that you will be getting a new one. Newegg made a mistake and had poor commnuication with the people who stock their products. You got your money back and you can spend it elsewere but to blame Newegg becasue they don't have any 6800U's to give to you is unfair.

Yeah, they're very rare. You are lucky that you got full refund on the card. It's not their fault that nvidia only ships like 10 of em to each retailer. For example, in Fry's. They only shipped 12 6800 ultra's. They shipped about 20 6800 GT's. And shipped like 10 6800's. Newegg is one of the best online stores. I never had any problems with their rma. I rma'ed about 5 times and they have nice people working there who actually listen to you.

I don't see any cause for your whinning, Newegg gave your money back after your 6800U went "bad" (you didn't even say how it went "bad," you could be completely at fault). Do whatever you want with your money, this thread is pointless and stupid.

6800U's are still somewhat hard to find, nevermind keep in stock for very long. I can't see assigning any blame on NewEgg for this "promise". Chances are by the time your card was RMA'ed to them and arrived at their facility, they no longer had any in stock. It was considerate of them to credit your account right away and not leave you hanging for weeks with a "coming soon" status.

The card had bad memory! Had litlle flashy glowing lines on the screen. yes i should be happy i got my money back. but id wait for another card. instead i have to be lucky 'again' to find a buy now button on newegg.

What the fuck you whining about,

he's talking about the Conditional Sales Contract he had with newegg,

but your right , at least they refunded him

Would you like to have someone come out from Newegg and give you foot massage and make you some chicken noodle soup for you?

Mods please close this thread.

That means either they didn't have any in stock at the moment they said they would send him a new one, or they did and didn't bother pulling it out of the warehouse to reserve for him. Either way you look at it it's wrong and you shouldn't have to feel "lucky" to get your money back when you don't have the merchandise that it was meant to pay for.

mods should change the title, i was quite surprised to see post that has in same sentence bad business and newegg...................... Newegg is BY FAR the BEST place to order everything for your computing needs.......... What they did was 100% correct, if they dont have card in stock what else can they do..............

NewEgg did the right thing. Just because you say you will RMA/ship your board back to them doesn't mean you will do it in a timely manner. It could take a week or two or three for your board to show up for all they know. And they can't send you a new one until they have the broken one in hand.

Sorry to hear about your broken Ultra though, that sucks.

Did you overclock it or was it broken right out of the box?

Oh god...suck it up. I had the same thing happen to me (although it was a GT) a month ago, I ended up having to wait 3 weeks to buy a new GT from a different vendor. At least newegg gives you an answer right away (refund money or send new card), some other vendors basically hold your status forever *cough gateway cough*...

If theres anything to complain about, it should be the price gouging...

Wow! For $549 I can get a complete DELL P4 2.8 with 17" LCD and free shipping.
With an Intel IGP, lol. I wonder how that would play Halo, D3, etc...

Wait until you have to deal with a reseller that:

A) Won't give you the time of day if you can actually get ahold of them.
or
B) Makes you go to the manufacturer and wait 3 weeks for any action

I can understand your feelings, but man, at least they took care of it in a timely manner and did about the only thing they could do given the circumstances.
