my friend JUST got his barton 2500+ and NF7-S mobo and a value stick of pc2700 ram. well we successfully got the computer running and everything works wonderfully except that it says in the "my computer" properties that his cpu speed is 1.1 Ghz. WTF!! it reads everything else correctly like it read the correct amount of ram. we are using geil thermal paste and stuff and stock heatsink. whats up??? the operating speed in the bios says 2500+, the setting below it is set to "auto", everything is default. in parenthesis as the top of this "Soft something" menu in bios it says (100 X 11), is that significant? What are we suposed to change or do?? Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!!

ok, you are running a 11 multiplier with 100FSB. You need to up the FSB to the default 166. If you up it to 200FSB, you would be overclocking it. First just bring it back up to 166FSB, then read up on overclocking it. Same thing happened to me with my barton.

11x166=1.83GHZ, your stock speed.

Later,
Eli
