Bad Axe 2 question

I have been trying to find my most stable overclock with my Bad Axe 2.
I have noticed that at some settings, after a reboot I must raise the vcore a notch to get it to boot normally. If I don't, sometimes it will take a very long time to even get to the splash screen, and all the while the HDD led is constantly lit. Even if it does boot, the led is constantly lit.
This has happened even after 24 hours of Orthos without an error, and 11 passes of Memtest3.3 without errors.
I am testing with bios 2747, now at 3.0ghz, 1.47vcore, Orthos stable for 12 hours at 57c on each core.
I really would not like to raise the vcore much more.
It just seems that the board tests out stable at a certain voltage, but after rebooting it is not.
Has anyone else had this happen with their board?

Bump and an update-

I had been 'Orthos stable' for 24+ hours at 325 FSB and 1.425vcore, with no boot problems.
I tried to get further but could not get anything past this to be stable.
Reset to 325/1.425 and now get errors in Orthos after 8 hours.
I don't believe temperature to be an issue because the Core Temp log did not go over 50c.

Sorry for the bump but was wondering if anyone else had this happen to them with this board/CPU.

Thanks.

Bump again.

It seems to be that the boot problem occurs when there is a CD in the drive.

On a side note, why no replies?
Wrong forum, not enough specs listed, not enough interest, I'm still a 'noob', I have 'cooties', or has someone been speaking to my ex-wife?????????

I used that board for a while and did not have those issues. Once question for you, are you running your SATA in IDE mode or AHCI?

I remember something about the HD LED being constantly lit up but I thought it was fixed with a bios update. I do recall that I had some issues booting up when I had the 3rd party SATA controller enabled. Do you know if you have that enabled or not?

No, only the Intel SATA controller is enabled.
It just seems weird that it will run Orthos for 24+ hours with no problem, and then have trouble on the next boot.

You got EIST and C1E disabled?

Over 1.4V sounds a lot for 3Ghz. Have you tried testing with higher MCH, FSB termination and VDIMM yet?

EIST and C1E don't really have an effect on your BIOS version. Regardless of setting it stays on. Also, it only lowers the multiplier to save energy without touching the voltage. So, stability isn't effected as far as I can tell.

EDIT: it does lower the voltage in BIOS version 2747
