Hi Guys,

Just got my shipment from NewEgg late last night and am planning my new build. For anyone out there with Vista can you tell me if the Intel mobo utilities (like RAID: Intel® Matrix Storage Manager, and Intel Desktop Utilities) work with Vista?

I see on the Intel website that they have the Intel Viiv Software Setup specifically for Vista, but none of the other utilities! I'm concerned I may have to install WinXP Pro first if none of the other utilities work under Vista.

Thanks,

scaryogre

Hi scaryogre,
I am running the Badaxe2 with Vista 64 right now. If you use Vista 32 there are no problems. If you use Vista 64, stick with the older bios like 2431.

Have fun!

with the badaxe 2 .. what do u need to install ?? im used to 680i .. so i know the chipset drivers .. but in vista u dont have to ??

what do u have to install in vista 32 ???

The Desktop Control Center doesn't work. Intel has a Vista-compatible version in development, but doesn't have an estimated release date; I haven't tried the other apps.

Here's a list of the Vista-support apps on Intel's site.

Thanks eljeffe. One thing I learned on another site that may help you out with the Intel Desktop Control Center. You can apparently install it in "compatibility mode" under Vista and it works fine. Right-click the .exe, properties, compatibility, etc.

Give it a try if you want and let us know if it works! :)

Thanks guys,

Thanks for the tip. IDCC will install now, but it won't run ... "error on initialization."
