bad ATI driver or card?-- CLI Application error?

Hello,

everytime I go to access my ATi control panel or anything related to my ati driver/vide card, I get the following pop up: ive reinstalled the driver a few times, and ive reseated the card a few times. ive even tried different drivers.. (and yes I did use driver cleaner pro for every reinstall) Im trying to avoid a reformat (which isnt even guaranteed to fix it incase its a bad video card) .. might you guys know how to help me out?

CCC requires the .Net Framework 1.1
get it from microsoft, or go to ati.com and you'll find it next to the driver. or you could just get the driver without the CCC and use Ati Tray Tools as the control center
 
I was having the same problems and had .net 2 insalled, switched back to 1.1 and it works like a charm now. Not sure what the deal is but that's how I solved it. Using the latest 6.6 Cats also
 
I installed the .net 1.1 frame work. .i actually didnt even isntall CCC at first but i isntalled it later just thought itwould fix it, but yes, i'll get .net 2 and try that with 6.6 thanks guys!
 
I also have that error mentioned originally and was unable to solve it. I ended up getting the Omega Drivers 6.5 but have been wondering lately if the Omega 6.5 drivers are as good as the Catalyst 6.6 drivers.

I also had another error saying that I am not the administrator and that I cannot open the control center because of that. Is there another way to get around that other than using Omega Drivers?

You need to be an administrator to install drivers regardless. And we do not talk about getting around on this board.
 
Is there any reason to install .net just to run the CCC as opposed to not installing .net and then running ATI Tray Tools (which comes with the drivers, correct?)

Will I be missing out on anything if I go the latter route? Or should I just stick with my Omega 6.5 drivers?
 
Also, anyone have any problems with admin rights or anything like that? Sometimes I can't open the CCC because it says that I don't have admin rights...
