Bad Artifacting

I have the evga 7900 GT KO video card. Its worked fine but up until recently I have been getting artifacting a lot. The main two games it happens in is Oblivion and Dystopia (Half-Life 2 mod, havent tried normal HL2 in a while). The kind of artifacts I am getting are where it looks like the surrounding and character models will "Bleed" a certain texture and it can stretch across the screen and probably into infinity. When looking at certain angles the artifacting will dissapear. Over time while playing a game it will get even worse. I've checked the temperature on the video card and they have been fine(57*C). What could be causing it?

just to be sure, try cleaning your video card cooler a little bit, have u installed new hardware recently?

I cleaned the card out with some compressed air, still getting artifacts. I haven't installed any new hardware recently. I've done memory tests and they haven't shown any errors.

I hate to say this, but I have a feeling your card is bad. Can you possibly try it in another system just to make sure?

either that or get a bigger heatsink fan for your vid card, cuz u know size DOES matter ! ;)

Are you by any chance using 101.41 drivers? I was getting artifacting on the desktop no matter what the clockspeed using those drivers.

Is this one of the "first run" 7900's?

Thanks for all the responses, I cannot swap it into another system, don't have another PCI-E computer. The video cards temp is 40*C at Idle and 57-60*C while playing games. At first I thought it was drivers, I've used the most up to date ones, beta ones and older ones. I bought this card 7-8 months ago from newegg without any extra warranties, Anything I can possibly do to get a replacement?

I'm getting the same artifacting with my EVGA 7900 GT CO in Oblivion, Far Cry, FEAR, and Dark Messiah. Seems to be the card kicking the bucket which is a real piss off considering I bought it to replace my 7800 GT CO whiched died and required RMA about 9 months ago. (Sold the replacement to a friend and surprise - it died a few months later, again.)

I'm not looking forward to RMAing again as it is expensive - $20 shipping one way and then again the other. That and the hassle of trying to get customs to refund your money when they decide its a good idea to tax you on a replacement. (I still haven't got the money back which was about $35.) $75 CAD in total for the pleasure of RMAing, $40 provided customs ever refunds me.

if you RMA your card with eVGA now, chances are they will bump you up to a 7950gt. i would go ahead and get that process rolling :)
