Bad 8600 gts?

I have an xfx 8600 gts 256mg on xfx 780i mobo with c2d@3.2 ghz.
I play ut3 and after about 20-30 minutes of playing it starts glitching out. Buildings and people just start going away and coming back at very high rates. There is an intake fan right over my graphics card and only have an 18 lcd. Is my card bad? Is there a program to run that will test it and inform me of problems?
 
Well, you can use rivatuner to monitor your temps, maybe your heatsink/fan was mounted incorrectly.

If its not that send a msg to xfx, their customer service is pretty good in my experience.

Last resort, send the card back to xfx and they will fix/replace it.
 
Sounds like bad card. Over heating maybe?

But you said you have intake fan right over it.

Download a program to check the temps like poster above me said.
