I'm trying to figure out how the memory is working or not working in my comp. It's a Dell XPS Gen 3.
The mobo is rated for 533MHz, and I've put in 2 gig of 800 MHz. I was thinking it should see the 533 the board was rated for., but it seems to only be showing it running at 400MHz.
Every thing in it except for the hdd and the ram is bone stock as it was shipped on day 1.

Should I have changed something in the bios?

Here's the Memory I'm using

According to the memory tab in CPUZ, your memory is running at 533mhz (266x2 = 533).

I think the 400mhz you are referring to is the entry on the SPD tab, which are the timing compatibility presets your memory has at 533 and 800mhz.

The complete formula for determining DDR2 memory speed is FSB * (Memory Divider) * 2 (the frequency gets doubled pumped.)
