Backup/Image server

Hi Guys,
I need to implement a backup/image server. It needs to be able to image servers over the network and store data for 40+ servers in case of failure. I have never implemented something like this and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what hardware/software to use, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Too little information, but perhaps Backula and/or rsync might be what you're looking for? Usually it's a bad idea to generate an image of a running system. As for restore making a generic PXE boot image and/or use iSCSI depending on what your hw supports might be suitable.

Here is a little more info: It is basically going to be a server with a RAID attached and be able to automatically do incremental back ups of important servers such as SQL database servers and automation servers. If one of these systems were to go down I need to be able to restore it back to operation quickly. This of course would all be done over the network. I have never setup a server like this spending money is not an issue, just wanted to know if anyone had any good suggestions on software with a good GUI not to hard to implement and hardware. Thanks
 
Hi,

To backup the OS part you can use Acronis (the enterprise edition).

I use it to secure around 1000 WSs and all tasks are performed online without any problem and without taking a lot of resources.

The other god point: you can also restore an image remotly without any special intervention.
