I am looking for a solution to my backup-needs. I need a program which just simply copies files, not incremental-backup, images or anything.

I have two server connected by VPN, and the program must work like this:

Compare server A and server B, any files not on server A are deleted from B, new files or changed files on server A asre copied to a THIRD medium, (that is a external harddrive connected to server A, which i later will bring physically to server B), the copying onto a third medium is the main problem, so far i have only found syncback pro that can do this, but is there a better or cheaper alternative? A bonus would be for it to not have extreme prices for licenses that is being used on a server OS. (its for personal use, but i run windows server)

I would look into a program called Second Copy, its not free, but its not that expensive either.

My setup is somewhat like yours.
You can run Syncback free version on windows server os if you have version 3.2.26.0.
You can no longer use Syncback free on server edition since version 6 was released.
If you can find version 3.2.26.0 it will install on Server 2008R2 as well as Server 2012.

Good Luck

Thanks for the tip, it looks like a nice program, but doesn't seem to have the ability to copy onto a third medium?

But can you copy to a third medium with that setup? It seems to me that is only possible with the "fast copy"-function, and that is not on the free version?

You can setup as many jobs to copy from wherever to wherever you like, so not sure what you mean by 'third medium'.

Well, as stated in my original post, i want it to compare "Source A" with "Destination B", and copy the files that are different to "Destination C", that is, i want it to compare two folders and copy the different files to a third folder.

You may be able to do what you want, but you'll have to get more familiar with it and try
different filter settings as well as groups.

I don't know if the program would do exactly what you want, even if you pay for it.
You could shoot an email to them and see what they suggest.

Good Luck
