Backlit KB thats not blue?

Hey all, I've been looking for a keyboard to match the rest of my red color set up, but for the life of me can barely find any back lit KBs that aren't blue. I know blue is a popular color when it comes to PC lighting, but jeez. All I've found so far is one green (on Xoxide) and one red (CrazyPC). I'd go for the red Saitek found on Crazypc.com, but for $60? Hell no.

Does anyone know where I can find a red backlit KB, or simply any KBs that aren't blue?

i disagree when your in a dark room red is the best for your eyes becuase they dont have to adjust much to the light.

if you want a red backlight keyboard why dont you buy what looks nicest and then change the LEDs to red..or at least i think its that simple?

Blue is actually the worst. It is the only color your eyes can not focus on due to the wavelength and the physical structure iris.

You also have to wonder just why the military ended up using only red light for low light and lights out situations. Basically, it takes less red light to produce a visible image to the human eye than it does for blue. If blue was used, to be able to read print, the intensity would have to be increased beyond that of red light to a point it would be observable from a farther distance away than using red.

It is that easy. I am going to do that with my Eclipse as soon as I run across some suitable red flat case led's

a standard blue Saitek lighted keyboard is $48+shipping on the egg. so $60 for a red one isn't bad.

You seem to be missing the point. I'm currently using a $12 back-lit from Xoxide and it works just as well as any Saitek. Anything over 30 dollars for a keyboard is insane to me (Although I'd easily drop 50 into a mouse, but thats another story).

Also, I'd rather not do a mod. Unless someone can find me a detailed mod guide I won't be risking the only back lit KB I have.

Well then face it you can't expect the coolest red backlight keyboard for that price. You gotta spend the money or make it yourself.

Backlit keyboards are rare enough; for a red one you'll be paying for it, like Abyss of the Borg says.

I'd say your best bet is to keep an eye on the FS/FT forum here and other hardware forums.

A friend of mine has that Red Saitek, it looks cool, easy to see discern letters and matches the red lighting of his case. Though dont like the feel of the keys, if they changed to switch type keys then I'de be ording one right now.

I've got the limited edition red Saitek eclipse, I love it. Took a few days to get used to the keys and such since I came from an old ass generic keytronic keyboard, but it's awesome. The red is blinding and it's much easier to see than the blue. I thought the blue would've been way too bright and blue is getting really played out in the computer scene so I paid extra for the red. I love this keyboard, I'll never buy a non-backlit keyboard again.

I've used a friend's crappy light up keyboard, and my Saitek pwns it. Absolutely kills it. I have to say, on top of being cool and light up, the eclipse is the nicest feeling keyboard I've ever typed on. It's (IMO) well worth $60.

I tried the Saitek and I was not happy with the keys' response. I got the G15 instead, which is nicer.

I have the Toxic Legend and it's a really good keyboard. They also come in blue, red, and yellow. Seven intensity settings, custom keycaps available, and the key stroke/feedback is
just about perfect for me. Definitely a quality keyboard.

it's a shame the deckkeys aren't wireless, they'd be perfect! I'd imagine it wouldn't last long on battery power.

Ugh, the letters on that DECK keyboard look like garbage. Cut the kiddie fonts, just give me straight up normal lettering and it'd be half decent.
