Backlight bleed deal breaker on notebook display?

Hi,

I got an Asus UX31A radiant black and the thing is almost a piece of technological marvel or even art until you look at the display when it casts white light shadows along its borders while displaying blacks. Is this a deal breaker or something one would start a RMA or return over?

Thanks.

Can you take a photo of it in a dark room so we can gauge the bleed?

The ASUS notebooks look and feel cheaply made to me, so I would expect at least some degree of backlight bleed. But maybe yours is abnormally bad.

It's most noticable to the left and upper right corner.

Camera had trouble taking a dark shot, but it is minor though wasn't sure if it was normal. I mean one dead pixel and people cry foul..

Thanks

I would wait until later in your warranty and RMA several things at once, exactly what I did with my 3830TG.

New photo I took tonight this time setting the camera to precisely the most sensitive setting to show whats going on:

Adjusted in Photoshop:

Definitely going back to Bestbuy.
