I am want to have a fall back for all my data. So i was wondering what programs there is out there. Isnt there one that has an umbrella icon?

I just made applescripts that run at a certain time at night and backup ical and mail and stuff to a backup drive.....

how are you looking to back things up?

I use backup (the umbrella icon one) and carbon copy cloner with a 250gb external, my .mac web space and dvds.

-2 partitions on the external drive, one is used for an image (from carbon copy cloner) of my internal drive, the other partition is used for backup to back up my internal drive
-I use backup to back important, small things up on my web space (documents, address book, etc)
-Every few months, I'll back up my pictures and music to dvds

im just looking to back up some debate file i have, probably a couple gigs total. I tried the lifeboat program that i think came on my machine, but it seemed to only grab a few random files and store them.

I use iBackup, it allows you to backup all kinds of things very simply such as emails and contacts etc as well as traditional files :)

I use SuperDuper and love it. I have 2x250GB's in a RAID0 and 1x500GB in my Mac Pro. I have SuperDuper setup to backup the RAID to the 500GB nightly. SuperDuper will allow you to copy all the data once and then after that it will only copy what has changed since the last backup (Incremental backup, IIRC). It's not free but it is a very good program, definately worth checking out.
