Hey all,

I used to be really into case-modding, but took a break... Now, I've become bored, yet inspired to try some new things...

I've chosen the Cooler Master Praetorian (still undecided about color) as my experiment... Reasons: simple, sleek, all panels are easily removable and paintable.

I do however have a few questions:

1) Who makes a very very very dark purple paint? I've been loyal to Duplicolor products but haven't been able to find anything even near that color... I'm looking for that dark sparkle with a bit of a sparkle to it as well. Any ideas on how I might be able to achieve this?

2) With the above said, would I be better off buying the black or brushed silver Praetorian? Right now, I'm leaning towards the brushed silver, simply because I wish to use the genuine CM side panel and that seems like the easiest to sand and paint. But perhaps the black gives me a better base color to work from? Which leads me to my next question...

3) With a brushed aluminum finish, should I sand down to the bare metal? Or would I get away with laying the primer on the stock surface?

I'm shooting for a dark purple, black, and UV theme.

If you guys could answer these few questions or give me any suggestions that'd be great!

Are you talking about the new 730? I was planning on modding that one too, but I took a few more looks at the door and decided it'd be too challenging to paint.
