Hey, first time back here in 5 months, been away out of country so im back to the computer world, have alot to catch up on. hows the 9700 pro still looking in terms of comparison to other cards and games. Is it starting to lack or am i in need of a upgrade?
thanks
:p

its still quite strong, but mind you it is two generations behind, the 9600/9800 series and the 9600xt/9800xt series.

Dude... the 9700pro sucks now. You need to get the latest and greatest 98,000,000 ultra super fantastic.

9700 pro is still a very strong card, no reason to think about updating until the new next gen cards are out, nv40 and r420.

alright, thats what i thought, i really did not want to shell out 800 bucks for a new card

I think buying the 9700Pro was the best money I've ever spent on a single piece of hardware from a longevity standpoint. My first "card" was a GF2GTS32M DDR from Creative, that card served me well, right up until americas army. then i bought a 4TI4200 to hold me over til I could get the 9700.

The only thing I would have done differently is not get the AIW and get a PCI TV card. But this radeon rocks and has held up quite well for being so long in the tooth.
