Back case fan direction?

I feel dumb for asking, but I've always had the back 120mm fan blowing outwards (sucking air from the case out into the world, like exhaust). I read somewhere recently that it should be blowing in.

Which way is correct?
 
The rear fan is always exhaust. Why would you want to be sucking in hot air that's blowing out of your power supply?
