Back again. A simple question on this NAS

Why not just buy a $75 IBM M1015 HBA and put them in your comptuer/case if you're wanting DAS? If you need a new case.... $100-$200 + $75 for HBA is a LOT cheaper than running another system 24/7 let alone buying that expensive QNAP when you just want DAS and no NAS features.
