I've been running a 2500+ Barton core at the 3200+ stock speeds (11.0x200) for about a year now, unable to get a single mhz more out of it. The whole time I thought I had a 450w antec powersupply and as a result was ruling it out as a limiting factor in my oc.
So I finally got my OCZ 600w powerstream today, and went about my gleeful changeover and re-tried overclocking. My goal was 2500MHz, and I was able to get 11.0x230 for 2535MHz (the multiplier is locked). The voltage to get this thing stable is more than I've ever run before, 1.94V.
Have I gone too far in the voltage setting, severely reducing the life of my processor? At stock voltage it averaged ~39C under load, now its only 3 degrees higher, 42C. If the voltage is too high, I guess I'll have to back it down a bit, just want to hear some other opinions.
