This card is released by powercolor and is claiming to have 2gb of memory, but it's only a 4850. Does this make sense to anyone or are the marketing people going overboard with this one? I'm in the market for a new video card(s) and all these options that are so close are still confusing me. 4850CF 512MB vs 1GB vs 4870 1GB vs 4870 512MB CF vs a 4870X2, just don't know which to buy anymore. I don't mind spending around 400$ but is it worth it when for about a hundred more I could get a 4870X2??:confused:
 
If its ddr3 unless it was say the mysterious 4850x2, I wouldnt touch it with a ten foot pole. I dont think that the bandwidth of a 256mb bus coupled with the ddr3 memory would useful to anyone. This car alone costs almost as much as two 4850 1gb card which would work way better in crossfire than this marketing monstrosity!

2gb might be useful in crossfire x at 4mp, outside of that its a waste. there was some benefit to 1gb but depending on the price its hard to justify right now. I suggest if your going to crossfire the 4850 just stay with 512mb ram. if you want more ram/performance just jump the rest of the way and get the 4870X2 for 450AR at TG.

Right. CrossFiring 2 4850's is better than this thing...not even sure what to call it and what category it falls into. Costs more than some 4870's (1GB).
