AX1200i or AX1200?

Getting a new PSU for extreme-overclocking. Will the AX1200i really benefit me for the extra price? Or just get another AX1200?

Depends upon what it's worth to you for the difference between the two, one is Gold and the other Platinum certified (see specs). You get the USB link with the 1200i to monitor the power and make adjustments if you really want them, but it's not a must have feature just an added bonus. Otherwise they are the same with the differences mentioned above.

Umm... no it can't. Power output is determined by how much power the hardware is pulling.

I'm interested to know the answer to this as well. Even 3 overclocked high end GPUs with a heavily overclocked CPU won't need 1200W.

If you are uesing a s2012 cpu with a high oc and 3oc gpus your going to need a big psu.
