awstats reporting 2x the number of pages as adsense

my site showed approx 2,100 pages yesterday but adsense is reporting only half that number of page impressions.
Percentage wise, i believe that the majority of my pages have adsense code and they all seem to be working. I've got a mediawik site and I added it to monobook as intructed. Also, a phpbb and I added it as instructed.

why would google show half the number of awstats?

i'm also curious to know why google was only reporting half the number of hits..is google's sneaky way of cheating you or what? Pls report back with your findings .

There's a lot of reasons... some of them are that not all browsers support the javascript needed. Some users turn JS off and some use adblocking software... Its a legit number.

which advertising companies pay more than Google's Adsense?

it could be because your own IP is not being counted by adsense but is being counted by awstats. try using google analytics and statcounter and various others - you'll soon see what's working that way.
