Okay since alot of people only come post about the horror stories I thought I would post my AWESOME experience with BFG RMA's......
First off this isnt my first time RMA'ing with BFG. My first time was right after I bought my 6800 ultra/PSU combo. That was a breeze RMA then too. I had to get my PSU replaced(bad fan out of the box). The only thing they even gave me issues with was making sure that I did in fact have a true BFG PSU since not all combos had real BFG PSU's. They even cross shipped the new PSU without making me pay a dime or give a CC number.
Anyway on to my current RMA saga. Back when I got my 6800 ultra people were concerned with the standard running temps( they seemed to run hot to most people) so I watched my card like a hawk for the first 3 months or so. Well about a week ago I noticed some artifacting and since I keep my maching current and the card had worked perfect for a year and a half I almost immediately assumed heat. When I started watching temps I found that at load I was having a 20degree C temp increase over the normal prior load temps. It was even raising my case temps. Even more telling was the fact the temps only rose during 3d apps and would fall pretty fast when switched to a non 3d app.
I contacted BFG support through email explaining my issue and what tests and workarounds I had tried already. They replied back less than 1 hour later( think was about 15mins actually) and had a few more tests they wanted me to attempt. After running those tests I decided to call in since it was normal business hours ( they do 24-7 support I just hate calling late at night especially since most places cant do anything late night anyway). I was on the phone with a rep in about 10 mins that was knowledgeable and professional. He asked me a few questions and looked up my email ticket number. Immediately he knew what was up what had been done what needed done and had me on my way to RMA in less than 10 mins( we determined I did need to RMA).
The wait for RMA dept to pick up with the longest I have had to wait so far with BFG but even then was only about 20 mins( kinda long but I have had hour or more holds before). The young lady running things asked me a few questions to make sure who I was gave me instructions on packing and shipping and had me off the phone in less than 10 mins with EVERYTHING I needed to get things taken care of.
I mailed my card UPS from TX to IL on monday june 5th. BFG got my card on the 7th and sent my new one out on the 9th. So total turnaround on this will be 7 days. So far I cant comment on the reports of issues that some people have had where they have to RMA several dead cards before they get a working one(wont get mine back till tomorrow) but I hope those were very isolated incidents. I do however KNOW that no matter what happens I have COMPLETE faith they will take care of me with a level of service very few companies can claim....
Sorry about the huge rambling post I just wanted to counter the impression that only the complainers post and the happy people are too busy having fun to post. As far as I am concerned my faith in BFG as a company and in their service performance has been rewarded tenfold. I just wish all companies had this level of service and performance. Not once was I made to feel like a thief ,vandal, or liar. I cant recommend these guys enough. I know some people have had bad experiences with BFG service and I can only believe those were the exceptions and not the norm......
