I just checked my e-mail and got a back in stock notification on the eVGA 6800 GT's. It was only 40 minutes old and it's 10:30 P.M. so I got my hopes up. I clicked the link and they were OUT OF STOCK. GRRRRR. Either those things sold like hotcakes or they just screwed up. Either way I'm PISSED.

Well I'm not sure why it was necessary to post this in the first place, I do feel for ya. It is possible that they just didnt get the website/emails sent out and updated in time and their stock went out to pre-orders or backorders or something. Honestly I'm not at all surprised something like that would happen the way things are right now. Hang in there dude, you'll get ahold of her sooner or later, but just remember that there are a LOT of people in the same spot you are with this whole waiting thing.

I was just aggravated and I had to tell someone besides the idiots in IRC :(

thas alright, I know how it can be sometimes with stuff like this.....I hope it works out for ya in time for "you know when" next month. ;)

Personally, I wont have my GT until the first part of September.....but hopefully that'll give things a little bit of time to settle down, and hopefully it wont be AS bad trying to get a GT by then. I guess my trusty 9800XT will have to pull me through Doom3 for the first month.....ahh well. ;) :p

Don't say it I'll get more jumpy than I already am.

What're you running right now that you're replacing???

Right now I'm running a three year old brandname PC I'd rather not talk about. I'll just say it has an Intel processor with a Willamette core, 256 MB of RAM, and a GeForce 3. I'm completely fed up with it so I just ordered all the parts for my new PC from Newegg.

MSI K8N Neo Platinum
Athlon 64 3200+
2 x 512 MB PC3200 Crucial RAM
160 GB WD 8 MB Cache
Dual layer DVD-RW
and once I get my hands on one I'll have a 6800 GT.

If you're panicking about Doom 3 then just grab one of the 6800nu's that ARE in stock and then just use the Step up program to grab a GT when they are available. The Geforce 3 you have now will be able to play the game though..

I'd rather just wait another week or so and order a GT, seems like less of a hastle to me. I'm not really panicking about Doom 3, I can live a few days without playing it before I get my card. Also I know that Doom 3 is supposed to be scalable to play on cards as low-end as mine but I don't see the point in getting a whole new computer and then keeping a three year old card.

Yeah, you'll live (maybe  ) I was lucky in that I ordered my GT right before the Doom 3 benches came out.
