Shortly before the forums went down, I posted my frustrations dealing with the Hercules video card company. Hercules kept sending me back broken replacement video cards for the one I had sent them originally.

A month ago, for the third time, I received a replacement hercules 9700 pro video card. The video card was shipped in a box barely bigger than the card, and was packed in only one piece of foam paper for protection.

Naturally, upon peeling back the foam paper, I foundd the heatsink snapped off as well as a capacitor snapped off.

If they were trying to wear me out, its worked, im not sending back the card for the fourth time, its getting ridiculous. I just went out and bought a PowerColor 9800 pro from NewEgg. My advice, stay clear of companies who replace broken video cards with other broken video cards.

Well your in good hands now, the egg has allways done good by me. The few issues that I have seen where corrected quickly and without delay. I have orderd at least 3k worth of stuff from them. My xp1700 (+ mobo and goddies) was the first >500 order from them nearly 2 years ago.

I would love to shop at newegg for all of my computer needs, unfortunately they do not ship to Canada. On the topic of Hercules cards, I can understand the hatred for them. The only Hercules card Ive owned was a Kyro 2 and after a week, the cooling fan stopped spinning. :(

weird... I own a Hercules 3D Prophet GF3ti500 and a Hercules 9800Pro and both are fine, absolutely no problems.

My ti500 was an OEM and my Hercules 9800Pro was bought straight off of Hercules' online store and was delivered to me in 3 days from the states to Canada which I found to be extremely fast, especially when it was freeshipping.

Perhaps if you buy it directly from them you receive better service? I dont know, im glad you had a great experience, mine sucked donkey balls.

Yay! More Canadian computer nerds!

I use TigerDirect.ca for all my shopping for computer stuff. I never really cared about new-egg.com because they don't chip to Canada... I just bought a $450 (CAD, of course :) ) upgrade form TigerDirect! AMD Athlon XP 2600+ with a good mobo, and 512MB of PC3200 RAM! Still waiitng for my dad to have time to put it in, sine my mom won't let me. 2 weeks, 4 days since it got here, and counting.

I've had the same problem with Hercules. My 9700 Pro died and I had to RMA it. One month later I received the replacement that was packed very poorly and was damaged upon arrival.

I sent it back and received a second replacement in about 3 weeks. Just plain bad.

Maybe it's just the Hercules 9700s.....

Anyways I work at a computer store so I don't really need to order anything unless I can't get it at my store (such as the case of my Hercules 9800pro). I love getting cost price on computer parts through the store :)

I think it is just their 9700's, thats the model i hear most people having problems with. Its the shipping though that really pisses me off, "thisMonsterLives" know what im talking about, why ship a graphics card in a tinny box. Its like they are trying to piss us off :(

its disturbing to hear, as hercules had been top o' the line back in the geforce 2 days, and in those days i hadnt seen anyone have problems with their cards, let alone their customer service.
