So, we're looking to switchin from our Raritan KVM (IP) to Avocent

We're going to be connecting 120 nodes to this and I'm curious as to if you think a SPARC processor would be better than an intel. If you recommend Intel, should we go Xeon?
 
I'm a little confused, which Avocent are you looking at? They make tons of different models.
 
Yeah I agree with the poster above. Are you talking about the machine acting as the DSView hub server? You aren't going to need the best machine to run it.

Since we are on the topic, anyone have one of their mergepoint appliances?
 
You still haven't answered our question. The 8035 is a 32 port IP KVM switch, so where does the sparc vs xeon debate come in?
