Well after reading reviews here and around the net I have decided to order a new rig from avadirect.. Their level of service and knowledge so far has been fantastic.I was amazed when Misha offered to have me ship him my current x-fi fatal1ty with front plate unit so they could install it for me made me decide to just go ahead and buy a new one... ( I could do it but I HATE mucking around in a new computer case). Misha even put up with me waffleing back and forth over the configuration and never once batted an eye. He is a very nice guy and never made me feel dumb for asking questions and even talked me out of some pricey options he didnt think I needed... :D

So far I wouldnt have any problems recommending them to anyone based on their performance as of now. I trust the reviews around the net and believe the level of service and support that I have had so far will continue to be amazing after the rig is
shipped.
Here is what I ordered.... What do you all think?

Kodan, I'm in the same boat with you. I also recently placed an order with AvaDirect based on the reviews, their reseller ratings and the great attitude that Misha displays.
I think it's great to be able to talk to the CEO and have him custom tailor your new rig with you and take the time to research individual components. There's not many boutique builders that will provide this level of attention to detail.
Your rig setup looks great, going with the fast RAM and the 1kw PSU will serve you well into the future.
I wish you and AvaDirect well for the new year!

They've got some pretty good prices for an OEM. Might take the place of monarch for cheap prebuilt systems for people who know exactly what they want.

Wish they had the p5n-e sli 650i motherboard though.

pshh...no RAID? what the hell kind of crap is that? All high end and no RAID, makes me a sad boy. :D

From all I can see research wise raid setups give a very small if any performance increase.. for a fairly high stablility decrease... I dont know enough about a raid array to rebuild or tweak one so I opted out. I dont want to start a flame war about the raid setups but 4 out of 5 IT people I know told me not to bother as well as all the research I was able to do online....

Stevo.k why on earth do you need almost 2 terrabytes of storage?  I figure I am wasting money on my 320 gig data drive(in 4 years I filled a 160 gb hd ONCE....).....

You can figure it out on their online system builder. It's costing plenty, but I feel the need for speed. And kodan, you can never have enough storage space!

We are welcoming lots of ex-Monarch's customers with open arms, warm blankets and hot tea as we all know that you might as well call them refugees.

As for P5N-E SLI board, we'll have it posted up today/tomorrow.

Thanks,

I actually went to the trouble of doing that and even my outlandish estimates were off. All I'm saying is that you better overclock that thing good XD

Hi, Misha. ;-)

Just to throw a little more appreciation AVADirect's way, I bought a machine from them in mid-December (q.v. this thread) from which I've gotten nothing but satisfaction. However, I have had occasion to email or call support a handful of times, to ask a question or request help with a BIOS setting, and every time they have responded almost immediately, even after hours. The support I've gotten has been courteous and completely knowledgeable (Chris, the rep I usually get, stepped me through the BIOS menus precisely, and wasn't thrown by me asking ancillary questions throughout the process. Amazing how seldom that's the case).

Perhaps more to the point, I was encouraged to call each and every time to make sure my problem was taken care of. Most places I know try to steer support services away from the phone, since it is so much more expensive in employee time. In this case, even when my answer was easily answered in email or through their web support center, I was encouraged to call if I had any problems, or any further questions, and both Chris and Misha invariably follow up.

Couldn't be happier with these guys. ;-)
