hi,

i know eset nod32 is highly regarded around these parts. looking on their website it does say that the business edition is compatible with server operating systems.

looking for some advice as to what you use on your sbs2003 deployments and why.

many thanks,
andy.

don't use sbs at work but i use nod32 on our servers (server 2003)

They have a special "bundle" specifically for Small Business Server...I use it for all my SBS clients.

It is a combination of the Business Edition (formerly known as Enterprise Edition)..which includes the RA/Mirror setup, combined with the Exchange component..XMON. At a reduced "bundle" price just for SBS.

Like SBS licensing..this comes in chunks of 5.

EAVSBS-N1or N2 (1 year or 2 year) is the start of the part number.

As much as I like free AV, like AVG, they are not good for SBS2003 or any other server environment. I use NOD 32. Spent around 500 for a set license. No problems and doesnt affect exchange if ur running on same server. Also, i never put spyware protection on a server.....ever

NOD32 is an antispyware program...antimalware, antiadware, antitrojan, anti-threat. Much more than just "antivirus".

Another vote for NOD32 here. We use it at our office and have moved about half of our clients over as well. The rest will be moved over as their current SAV licensing expires. In fact I have to do a 25 user install next week. I do so love removing SAV and installing NOD32 . . .

Is the SBS bundle something new? We have just been getting the 2.7 or 3.0 depending on whether the client has SBS or not....

No....they've had the bundle for several years. I submit the order through the orderbot..and receive 2x licenses...1x for the RAS, the other for XMON.

okay I thought that is what we were doing, too. Just wanted to make sure our office manager wasn't being stupid and getting the wrong thing. :)

May have to contact you sometime about licensing. Apparently we tried to get from ESET directly and they just told us to go with MapleTronics. It hasn't been the best experience with MapleTronics . . . .

yeah man u gotta go through the distributors, i use mysmartquote.com get reseller pricing, sometimes its good but sometiems Newegg has OEM version for just as cheap.
