Considering one and two pound heatsink and fan hanging sideways off the cpu and stressing the mobo in a tower case, i have decided to go the AV-htpc type case. Like the Tenor at about $90. Especially when one considers the recording of CATV or playing dvd content through one's 5.1, 6.1, 7.1 thx stereo system, instead of those lil 5 or 10" computer speakers.. the merging of the tower-workstation into a dvr / AV system makes sense.
Other, but more expensive similar cases are: uneed , htpc , or euro media case . Besides having to goto wce instead of wxp or vista OS, one also needs to investigate a gpu that ports TV (pal ntsc) instead of just centered around max gaming performance.
Am interested in similar type rack AV component cases others can suggest.
